HEALTH CARE FOR AMERICA NOW!

Across Colorado, people are struggling with the high cost of health care for themselves and their families. As insurance companies pile up record profits, health insurance premiums and out of pocket costs continue to soar out of reach for so many people in our communities. Hundreds of thousands in our state can't afford any health insurance at all; countless more people can't get the care they need despite having coverage.
The time is now for large-scale, national health care reform. CPA has joined with hundreds of nurses, doctors, small business owners, faith-based groups, people of color organizations, women's groups, and seniors to demand and win a guarantee of quality, affordable health care for everyone.

Through the Health Care for America Now! Campaign we are mobilizing communities to ensure that Congress and the President pass health care legislation that guarantees quality, affordable health care for all in 2010. We're also calling for regulation on health insurance companies, who should no longer be allowed to put their profits before our health.

Federal health care reform is moving along at a rapid pace. The House and Senate have each passed their version of the bill. Before a final version can be presented to the President for him to sign, the House and Senate bills have to be combined and the combined bill sent back to each chamber for a final vote. Conference Committee negotiations are currently underway, call you Representative and Senators Udall and Bennet today at 1-877-264-4226 and ask them to work on fixing affordability subsidies in the bill. Tell them that low income families in Colorado are counting on them to pass a bill that works for ALL families!
